Natasha Távora Baker (she/her), Supervising Attorney for Litigation & Policy, holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a B.A. from Boston College. Natasha began her legal career as a Skadden Fellow at Open City Advocates, representing youth in the deep end of the juvenile justice system in post-disposition matters. More recently, Natasha has tackled the criminalization of poverty by leading class action cases across the country challenging pretrial supervision fees and money bail, among other matters. Natasha also successfully represented a man serving a life sentence in federal prison, securing his release via compassionate release after nearly 28 years of incarceration. At UnCommon Law, Natasha is focused on leading litigation and supporting policy efforts to address the arbitrariness of the parole hearing process.
