Kendra Tran (she/her) received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018 and her M.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University in 2020. Before joining UnCommon Law, she worked at the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, where she supported crime survivors through court proceedings and parole suitability hearings. She believes that victimization and perpetration are two sides of the same coin and that true restorative justice requires a deep commitment to healing-centered accountability. To this end, she is dedicated to exploring new and diverse ways to share this vision with everyone who engages with UnCommon Law.
As Development Associate, Kendra draws on her experience with several Oakland-based organizations. Her past work includes facilitating outreach with grassroots nonprofits, organizing community events, and collaborating on fundraising efforts.
In her personal time, she coordinates a meditation class at a Buddhist monastery and coauthors a book on trauma and recovery, provisionally titled 24.
