UnCommon Law is a non-profit law office based in Oakland, California. We help long-term prisoners understand and resolve the factors that contributed to their crimes so that they can safely be released. We provide quality representation for California prisoners in their parole suitability hearings, as well as in court petitions challenging the parole board and the Governor. Our team takes a uniquely personal and comprehensive approach to advocacy, working intensively with our clients and their supporters for many months — even years — to prepare for their parole suitability hearings.
